The troublesome original release, named for the problematic first brew day which hugely emphasised its hop bitterness. It's matured and evolved nicely over the years. Big tropical hop flavour from local varieties with strong bitterness from an English hop to honour its origins, all balanced by plenty of malt.

Limited Release 38 is a Hazy IPA brewed with real passionfruit and hopped with tropical hop varieties Strata and Nelson Sauvin, showcasing juicy passionfruit, tropical and slight dank characters on a pale and hazy base beer, with a cleansing passionfruit acidity to finish.

Limited Release 40 is a Fresh Hop Pilsner brewed with whole cone Riwaka hops grown by NZ Hops, flown across the Cook Strait and into the brewhouse with minimal delay to capture peak freshness. Bright and expressive, it delivers juicy citrus and tropical fruit over clean pilsner malt, with resinous hop oils and a crisp, snappy bitterness.

The raptor family includes a surprisingly diverse collection of birds of prey and their kin, and stretches to include some of their fiercer ancestors from the land before time. Pale Ale can feel like a similarly broad category, but this one is very much of the more assertive kind.
